              Board Meeting 
              Minutes 
            July 12, 2011
             
              Board Members Present: 
              Janet Rourke – President  
              Kevin Laugherty – Vice President  
              Lynda Flynn – Secretary  
              Margaret Pitotti – Treasurer 
              Mohammed Umar – At Large  
            Convening: The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm at the Phillips 
              School, 7010 Braddock Road, Annandale, VA 22003. 
            The minutes for June 2011 were review and approved. 
            Open Forum:  
            A few homeowners attended to observe and discuss with the board 
              issued regarding repairs to their homes and landscaping issues. 
             
            Al Carchedi presented three proposals for street repair on Leebrad 
              Street. The board decided on the bid from Dominion Paving in the 
              amount of $58, 517.00 for the repair. Repairs are to include curbs, 
              gutters, milling and paving, and to replace the speed humps. The 
              board will post signs when the repairs are scheduled to begin.  
             
              Officier Reports:  
            • President: The president stated that a new Virginia law 
              passed stating that notification must be made to homeowners 48 hours 
              prior to chemically treating the grounds. The board will post notices 
              on the stands by the mailboxes. National Night Out is scheduled 
              for August 2nd from 7-9 pm. Signs will be posted. Pruning of a tree 
              in front of homeowners home was discussed and it was decided that 
              if there is enough money left in the budget the tree will be pruned 
              in the fall. Fall clean up day was discussed and it was decided 
              that we would not have it. The president presented the budget report 
            • Vice President: The Vice President stated that he had three 
              proposals for the fence repair. The Vice President was going to 
              try to negotiate for a little better price and then the project 
              would be approved the repair would begin. The Vice president also 
              stated that the No Thru and No Trespassing signs have arrived and 
              showed them to the board. 
            • Secretary: Nothing to report. 
            • Treasurer: The treasurer reported that three homeowners 
              accounts are with the lawyer. Since it is the beginning of the quarter 
              the treasurer stated that the dues are still coming at a pretty 
              good rate.  
            • At Large: The at large member has been in touch with VDOT 
              regard the sign

              were made and approved regarding active ARC violations (Note: as 
              the ARC Chair, The President, Janet Rourke, does not vote on ARC 
              hearing decisions or other ARC matters required approval of the 
              Board):

              Hearing Letter to be sent: 20 
              Hearings to be re-scheduled: none 
              Second violation notices: 3 letters  
              With Lawyer: Two homeowners accounts 
              Twenty-seven first letters were approved to be sent to homeowners 
              • Report on State of Finance: no update 
              • Grounds & Maintenance:  
            Items were included in the President and Vice President’s 
              report 
            • Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8.33 p.m.
