              October 14, 2004 Board Meeting

              Planner – Bradlick Shopping Center
              Extended hours for Wachovia and 18 more seats for McD's – before the Board of Supervisors now; Planning commission meeting will be held tomorrow night at 8:15; doing detail review now on the actual space, and they're estimating they can fit 18 more seats for family seating. Board of Supervisors will decide 10/20. A proposal to place a light at the left hand turn off Backlick into Giant. Will likely be approved. 
              Approval of Minutes from previous meeting
              Ron moved that the minutes from September meeting be approved; Chris seconded the motion. Pass unanimously. 
             
			  President's Report
             Homeowner correspondence 
              Locking boxes for next month's agenda. 
              AAA – trash contractor – service is getting better. We will hold off finding another contractor for now.  
              Plantings committee – Ron will take over Chairman of that committee and move to get decision made before the end of the year. 
              Curb painting – Ron will take over as Chairman of this committee. He was told about a local Boy Scout troop who would charge $5 a space for painting. Ron will look into this and see if they have references. Anne and Al recommended starting with Leestone St. 
              Our CAI membership has lapsed. Ron will be talking to Mohammed about this issue. 
              There has been a washing machine "moving" around the neighborhood to different curbs. If anyone knows the owner, we need to remind him or her they are supposed to contract AAA for a special pickup. 
             
              Other Officer reports
              Vice President's report 
              Ticketed 3 more cars. 
              Need to get a list of homeowners from Leona to find out how many renters there are living at 7041 Leestone St.  
              Dog barrels – 2 people have approached Chris about installing dog barrels, for collection of dog waste.  
              Treasurer's report 
              Not present. 
              Secretary's report 
              Nothing to report 
              Member at Large report 
              Ginnie Mae investment should be made. Lynn is going to follow up on this issue. 
              Tax returns were mailed. 
              April and May bank and investment statements are missing. Lynn needs to follow up on these. 
              Ron will go look to confirm the rake board has been repaired at 7036 Leebrad. 
              A lot of information in the file cabinet on locking boxes.  
              Homeowner Accounts –  
              Schultz has overpaid his assessments. 
              Everyone's assessments are in. 
              Leona distributed requests to homeowners for input in the new directories.  
              Website software purchase 
              Website registration software is back in the budget. 
              A question was asked if we could provide an e-mail address for each Leewood household. This might help with being able to distribute an electronic newsletter. It was mentioned that not all residents have computers to be able to receive electronic newsletters.  
              Newsletter 
              Ron has articles to provide. 
              $25 is the fee for a full page for advertisers. 
              Budget 
              Lynn passed out the budget, and the Board discussed it. Lynn will make budget updates and present at the next meeting. 
              Capital improvements to be included in next year's budget 
              
              Lighting is tabled until a later meeting and will be presented at the annual meeting as a possible budget item.
